Casual event for people with Down syndrome aged 18 or over. Chance to meet and connect before the Congress.
All fees are quoted in Australian Dollars ($AUD) are inclusive of 10% GST (Goods and Services Tax).

Pre-Congress Self-Advocates Forum
Date: Tuesday 9 July 2024
Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Venue: Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre
Inclusions: Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon tea
People with Down syndrome aged over 18 years come together to learn, share issues and ideas, and build skills.
We will talk about:
- Health including mental health
- Education and employment
- Rights and self advocacy
- How organisations can include people with Down syndrome.
We will also have some fun activities like public speaking and art.
This day is for people with Down syndrome to learn new things, build skills and confidence and make friends. It will be an inclusive day, designed with and for people with intellectual disability. Staff will be onsite to help people who need support. It is preferred that parents and other supporters do not attend, however we understand some people with Down syndrome may need specific support with communication or personal care. If attendees require their parent/supporter, we encourage the parent/supporter to only attend the part of the day as needed.
